Hey mate.
First, epididymitis is an acute or chronic inflammation of the epididymis. It may result from venereal disease, urinary tract infection, prostratitis, prostatectomy, or prolonged use of indwelling catheters. Some of the symptoms include fever and chills, throbbing in the groin, and tender and swollen epididymides. Treatment includes bedrest, scrotal support, and antibiotics, as appropriate.
Since you haven't see the doctor yet, you don't enjoy the appropriate antibiotics so go near the other treatment til then.
Secondly. Nurofen is a nonsteroidal anti-infammatory agent, so yes you are right in taking it make happen it is used for acute and chronic inflammatory pain. BUT.some of the side effects to taking elevated doses of nurofen regularly (which you are) is gastric bleeding, gastric ulceration, hepatic, renal, cardiac impairment. So you really have to mind. If you have no liver, kidney or heart problems, thats fine the big one is your gut. You should give somebody a lift ranitidine with the nurofen as it aids contained by preventing gastric ulceration. THIS SHOULD BE PRESCRIBED.
Solution: (1) decrease the amount of nurofen to in the region of half of what you currently embezzle and drink milk when you take the nurofen.
(2) try bedrest, scrotal supports and absolutely no sport or heavy lifting.
(3) when you see the doctor, dicuss beside them the cause of the epididymitis create that needs to be address.
I hope this helps you and remember, pilfer care of your ball.. they are two of your closest friends :-) All the best.
P.S I am a health professional.
