Lace Front Hair System (do you have to shave your principal?)?

I'm fairly childlike with thinning pelt but still have a fully clad amount. I would like to wear a hackle system but do not want to be married to wearing it all the time.
I enjoy been told the solely way to do it is shave the top of your guide. If I were to buzz it close but not shave it would it work? Would the cartridge damage my concrete hair?

fuzz system, as in a toupe? most plausible you'll have to shave your chief... have you ever tried sticking cassette (of any kind) to your hair? it doesn't work.
