Well if you want to cause it confrontational, you could ask him in front of the creature who told you what he said to them. One of them isn't telling the truth. If it is really major to you, that's what I would do... but then I am an arrogant bugga next to no friends.If more than one trustworthy person is unfolding you that he is saying these things, next I would just dump him if they are insulting as he obvously doesn't respect you. I would read aloud nothing to him except. "see you round Charlie".
