I'm dark haired but why do I bring a ginger beard?

Because u have a "red" gene contained by your family. I give dark brown down...but I have instinctive "ginger/red" highlights in my hair. My husband have mousy brown hair and he have ginger highlights in his pubic region and if he lets his facial hackle grow a little...it have a ginger look. It all comes down to inheritance...some1 in your house will have the gene which is messing beside your beard...lol.
