I started doing more sit-ups, and in a minute my abs hurt. I am in dutiful shape so why are they sore?


I work out a lot and commonly, right now I am concentrating on making my abs and my pecs bigger. but I started doing more situps (I did 300 a year, now im doing 400...no im not on speed, I only like have really good muscles) and in a minute my abs hurt, what should I do?! It hurts to breath!

It sounds close to you over used them. Take a breather (even though it hurts). If you insist on doing 400 per day, break it up into two sessions of 200. Make sure you are not intake too much before you exercise. Have you changed anything else that could be affecting your routine? Since you should be working on total fitness when you exercise, you might be overexerting yourself. Stay hydrated but don't drink too much or you will cramp worse. They best thing to do is catch advice from a doctor who know your complete history.

Hahaha this happen to me too, before you do sit-ups do some stretches to abet the muscles in your stomach loose and after do some stretches after to cool-down

New muscles form during rest time. If you do the sit-ups every morning the muscles are overworked. So rest them at least for a light of day or two between exercises. You can do push-ups or other
workouts in between.

Accually to be honest very soon is the best time to do your sit ups. When your abs hurt it's because the skin,tissue, and muscle, are begining to be softer but ony for a while. You can "mold" them now and it will engender a bigger diffrence.
